Mayor Barton called the meeting of the General Purpose and Administration Committee to order at [time].

Emily Elliott, Deputy Clerk, announced that there was an Addendum consisting of one in-camera item.

Councillor Shreeve thanked the Zephyr Lions for organizing and maintaining skating on the pond at the Zephyr Park.

Councillor Beach remarked on how often the ice rink at the Goodwood Hall Ice is being used by residents and thanked the Goodwood Lions for keeping it maintained.

Councillor Snooks congratulated those Township of Uxbridge employees receiving long term service awards during today's meeting.

Councillor Snooks also thanked public works staff for their hard work in keeping Township roads free of snow and ice.

Councillor Pickering also spoke to the importance of shopping local.

Regional Councillor Garrod spoke to the recent opportunity to thank the Province for awarding 192 long term care beds during a celebration on Friday, January 31, 2025.  Regional Councillor Garrod also thanked a number of community members including Mike MacDonald and Joan Wideman, Brian Evens and Rob Croxal for their hard work in securing the funding to get the long term care home built.

Mayor Barton thanked everyone for coming together to the Long Term Care home approved and officially underway.

Mayor Barton and Kristi Honey, CAO presented long term services awards to Township employees Ed Johnson, Facilities Technician - 35 years of service, Amanda Ferraro, Director of Community Services - 25 years of service, Darrell Heise, Arena Attendant  - 20 years of service, Bill Rynard, Road Operations Manager - 20 years of service, Corrinne Morrison, Library Manager - 10 years of service, Mike Roncken, Custodian - 10 years of service and Mark Cain, Equipment Operator- 10 years of service with the Township of Uxbridge.

re Implementation of the Township of Uxbridge "Buy Canadian" Policy

    THAT the Administration and Special Projects Committee receive Report CAO-04/25 regarding the implementation of "Buy Canadian" Policy;

    AND THAT the policy remain in place until such time as there is clear indication from the Provincial and Federal Governments that trade relations have been normalized;

    AND THAT the policy be forwarded to all municipalities in Ontario requesting they implement similar policies;

    AND THAT the policy be forwarded to AMO and ROMA;

    AND THAT the policy be forwarded to the Premier of Ontario, MP O’Connell, all Durham MPP’s and appropriate Provincial ministers;

    AND THAT the policy be forwarded to all Township Committee Chairs for information;

    AND THAT Committee support this policy in principle;

    AND THAT the final document be run through the CAO’s office for final approval.
